Donations to our Benevolent Fund

Trinity Providence Council request your help to rebuild our benevolent fund. There is an immediate need to assist Mario & Andrea (Gilpin) Delafuente to cover cost of accommodation in Toronto while their baby son, Nicolas, is in Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto. Please give generously for their hotel accommodations since they do not qualify for Ronald McDonald House.

Volunteers needed at Community Care
Volunteers are needed to assist Community Care throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes with many programs and services, including the Adult Day Program, Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Friendly Visiting and Hospice Services. Call or e-mail or go to our website at www.community-care.on.ca to find out how you can help. Please see poster on bulletin board for more information.

DEFICIT LIQUIDATION FUND
The Trustees and Church Council decided on October 12th to present to the Congregation a plan to eliminate the Deficit. As most of you know, our deficit at September 30th was approx. $45,000.00. What we are asking you to do is to donate $15,000.00 of the $45,000.00 and the balance will be written off to the “Faith in the Future Fund”. The DOLLAR SIGNS on the front wall represent $500.00 each and as we receive this amount, either all from one or smaller amounts from others, a DOLLAR SIGN will be removed. The 6 BLACK $$ SIGNS will indicate that we have started to repay the “Faith in the Future Fund” after eliminating the DEFICIT. You may use the envelopes in the Narthex to make your donation or indicate “DEFICIT” on your weekly Offering envelope. Remember this is over and above our normal weekly offering. The Finance Committee is looking at ways to increase our Operating Funds, (see the above – “Cash Cards are Coming”). We hope to accomplish this within the next 6 months! If you have any questions regarding the DLF (Deficit Liquidation Fund) speak to Bud Justice or Ron Flett.

BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE
PASTORAL CARE COMMITTEE
The Pastoral Care Committee is looking for new members. We are a group of caring individuals who feel called to visit members of our church family to offer love and support. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in the Bick House. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity for ministry, please call Carol Wells at 705-731-0455. We would love to discuss various options for your participation. Many thanks.

A REQUEST FROM THE PASTORAL CARE COMMITTEE
If you know of a friend or neighbour who is absent from Sunday service, would you please pick up an extra bulletin and deliver it to them. This will let them know that we are thinking of them and that they have been missed. Thank-you.

Church Buddies for our Shut-in
Could you give someone a call on a regular basis to let them know how things are going at Church – and to let them know we care. A call once a month could make a difference.

The UCW collects items to pass on to other organizations to use as fundraisers or uses them to earn money for our own UCW. Can you help us? Do you have Foodland or Valumart tapes? We can earn credits. Could you save Campbell soap labels? School programmes use them. Rather than put your 3 litre outside milk bags into the recycling box, bring them in to be woven into sleep mats for Developing World children. Postage stamps with a 1/4" border are another source of revenue. Consult the list on the UCW Bulletin Board for a complete listing of all the items we collect. All items may be placed in the library in specially marked boxes in the cupboards above the counter. If you have any questions do not hesitate to speak to Harlene Waterman, our convener.
